Finding My Voice Behind the Scenes – Week 3 of My CVAP Journey
One of the biggest highlights of Week 3 in the Certified Voice Artist Program was our ZoomArte final rehearsal and performance. This week's session felt more collaborative and hands-on because we had to work together as a group while also managing our individual exercises. Even though there were still moments of nervousness and adjustments, I found myself participating more actively instead of simply observing from the background.
Through the rehearsal and performance, I realized how important timing, communication, and adaptability are in voice artistry. Since our presentation involved live interaction and voice performance, it became clear to me that voice acting is not only about individual talent, but also about teamwork and supporting one another behind the scenes. It was enjoyable seeing everyone contribute creatively in different ways to make the performance work.
Another thing I noticed this week is that I’m slowly becoming more comfortable expressing myself during activities. I still get nervous, especially when speaking spontaneously, but compared to the first few sessions, I no longer feel as hesitant as before. Little by little, I’m learning to focus less on sounding perfect and more on simply participating, learning and improving.
During the afternoon session, Trainer Bryan discussed the basic equipment used in professional voiceover work. This became one of my biggest takeaways for the week because it introduced us to the technical side of voice artistry. Before this session, I mostly focused on performance and delivery, but I realized that audio quality, recording setup, and recording environment also play a huge role in creating effective voice content.
As someone currently using only a phone and a simple DIY recording setup, I found the discussion very relatable and motivating. It reminded me that while professional equipment is important, growth also comes from being resourceful and learning how to improve using whatever tools are currently available. Even simple adjustments in positioning and recording space can already make a noticeable difference in sound quality.
I also appreciate Host Ron, the trainers, mentors, marshals, and the secretariat team for continuously creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. Their guidance and encouragement make the sessions feel less intimidating and more motivating, especially for quieter participants like me who are still learning to become more expressive.
Overall, Week 3 helped me understand that voice artistry is not just about having a good voice. It also involves preparation, collaboration, technical learning, and the willingness to continuously experiment and improve. I still have a lot to learn, but with every session, I feel myself becoming more open to the process and more willing to use my voice confidently.
This journey is slowly teaching me that growth does not always happen loudly. Sometimes, it happens quietly behind the scenes, one small improvement at a time. And maybe that’s part of finding my voice too—not just learning how to speak, but learning how to grow behind the scenes.
