Finding My Voice Behind the Scenes – Week 3 of My CVAP Journey

One of the biggest highlights of Week 3 in the Certified Voice Artist Program was our ZoomArte final rehearsal and performance. This week's session felt more collaborative and hands-on because we had to work together as a group while also managing our individual exercises. Even though there were still moments of nervousness and adjustments, I found myself participating more actively instead of simply observing from the background. Through the rehearsal and performance, I realized how important timing, communication, and adaptability are in voice artistry. Since our presentation involved live interaction and voice performance, it became clear to me that voice acting is not only about individual talent, but also about teamwork and supporting one another behind the scenes. It was enjoyable seeing everyone contribute creatively in different ways to make the performance work. Another thing I noticed this week is that I’m slowly becoming more comfortable expressing myself during activiti...

Finding My Voice Through Chaos – Week 2 of My CVAP Journey

Week 2 of my journey in the Certified Voice Artist Program felt more alive—and more engaging in a way that made me want to participate, not just observe. We learned about the dubbing process during the morning session with Ms. Donnah Vee Abuyuan. It was interesting to see how much preparation goes into it—from character breakdowns and script translation to understanding the timing and symbols used in dubbing. One of the highlights for me was the dubbing activity where we got to choose a character and try to dub a scene. I picked a character from Hidden Figures (Octavia Spencer), which was a bit challenging for me since I wasn’t familiar with the scene. On top of that, I had some internet issues, so it didn’t go as smoothly as I hoped—but it was still a valuable experience. It showed me that I still have a lot to improve, especially in adaptability and confidence. This experience actually reminded me of the recent STOP workshop that I attended before joining CVAP. We got to experience d...

Finding My Voice in the Noise – Week 1 of My CVAP Journey

Week 1 of my journey in the Certified Voice Artist Program has been both exciting and overwhelming. As someone who is naturally shy, stepping into a space where voice and expression are the focus feels like a big challenge, but also something I’m genuinely curious about. During the first session, we were introduced to the basics of voice artistry and also got the chance to interact with fellow participants. From creating our group identity to sharing our introductions, everything felt new, but at the same time, meaningful. It made me realize that this journey is not just about skills, but also about connection and growth. One of the things that stood out to me was debunking common myths in voice acting. I used to think that having a “good voice” or being able to imitate others was enough, but I learned that it’s much deeper than that. Voice artistry requires creativity, imagination, discipline, and the right mindset. It’s not just about speaking—it’s about expressing with purpose. Anot...
